Justin Huyck is Editor for Pastoral and Parish Resources at Liturgical Press. He is also the author of two books published by Liturgical Press in the Alive in the Word series from Little Rock Scripture Study: From Home to Home: Finding Meaning in Mobility and Baptism: Alive in Christ. Before joining Liturgical Press in January 2024, Justin served for 15 years in parish ministry, and most recently in diocesan ministry as Director of Communications for the Diocese of Youngstown. As Communications Director, he led the integration of the diocese’s publishing, broadcast, digital, social media, strategic communications, and internal communications operations, including the launch of The Catholic Echo magazine and multimedia hub.
As a parish ministry leader, Justin served as Pastoral Associate and Director of Adult Faith Formation at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Canton, Ohio, and before that in Albany, NY, Chicago, IL, and Kingston, Ontario. Justin’s ministry experience has encompassed a wide spectrum of parish life and pastoral initiatives, including adult faith programming, retreats, small Christian communities, liturgy, prayer, Christian initiation and ministry with those exploring faith, youth and young adult ministries and leadership development, and ecumenical and interfaith projects.
Justin holds a B.A. in Government from Cornell University and an M.A. in Theology and Liturgy from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. He and his wife are the parents of two children.
Justin is an active collaborator nationally and locally. He is currently on the Board of Directors, and previously was Chair of the Product Development Committee, for the National Community of Catechetical Leaders (NCCL). In the Diocese of Youngstown, he serves on the Lutheran-Catholic Covenant Commission (with the Northeastern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America), and has been engaged in developing ecumenical and interfaith partnerships throughout his ministry career. He has also served on the Diocese of Youngstown’s Council for Catechesis, evangelization retreat team, and lay ministry formation team.
